lavenderspark: (book)
I've slowly started reading again, but I'm trying to be aware of how long I spend doing it in a day. I finally finished that five book ebook from a while back, so it looks like I've read more than I have.

Paperbacks:

I read Time's Convert by Deborah Harkness ) shortly after I finished the All souls Trilogy. It's set right after it, so I'm not sure if that's now a four book series, or how it's going to be as I've heard the author plans seven books in all. I enjoyed the book and it gave more details on some side characters from the other books that I liked.

I recently read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë ) It wasn't what I was expecting. Everything I've ever heard about it makers it out to be super dark and mildly terrifying. It was neither. But I'm wondering if I got an edited version? The language felt wrong, like it was too modern. So maybe I got a version that was used in schools or something.

Ebooks:

I finally finished the Emma Frost Mystery Series Books 1-5 by Willow Rose )I really enjoyed this series. Some of it is a little unbelievable, but overall I liked the characters and each storyline was different.

Grave Intentions by Lori Sjoberg ) was interesting. I like the idea of there being more than one reaper and that it's used as a way for souls to earn redemption.

I just finished Special Offers by M.L. Ryan. ) This took some time to get into. The main character's life is so terribly boring and I don't think the job she has exists. But if you ignore that part, the rest is pretty interesting. People from another dimension with magic, an epic fight, romance.
